For us, at Langside worship includes much more than a Sunday service. We have created this section of the website to help you engage in worship in new ways. Whether it is through contemplation on artwork, volunteering or learning to garden there is something for everyone.
Resources
Lent 2022
Throughout Lent this year we are following the materials found in the “Full to the Brim: an Expansive Lent” devotional booklet. Find out more about our worship resources for lent here.
Christian Meditation
Christian mediation is a contemplative practice of meditation from the monastic tradition of the early centuries of Christian History. We host Christian Meditation sessions in person and on zoom through Finn’s place. These sessions are on a Monday at 7:45pm.
Volunteering
Serving our neighbour in love is a grounding and active spiritual practice. Volunteering for charitable causes and to assist those most in need is valuable to those who are served and to the one who serves. We encounter Christ whenever we care for those who society has marginalised.
“I can’t stand your religious meetings.
I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions.
I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
your pretentious slogans and goals.
I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making.
I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
When was the last time you sang to me?
Do you know what I want?
I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
That’s what I want. That’s all I want.”
Amos 5:21-24 (MSG)
