Last Week’s Worship

What to Expect on a Sunday

Everyone is welcome at our worship services.

This means you – whatever you believe and whatever stage you are at on your spiritual journey.

If you have not been to church for a while we hope that you will find our services relaxed, informal and relevant for life today. Sermons are thought provoking, and the music is a mix of the old and new led by our resident band.

Our main Sunday service usually takes place at 10.30am. There is a creche for younger children. We also have a Young Church programme for primary school ages all meeting during term time. Over the summer we have “all ages together” worship where all age groups are welcome.

Our services last for about an hour, after which we have a relaxed cup of tea or coffee.

Welcome

No matter who you are you can expect a warm hello and greeting to Langside Church. We recommend arriving at about 10:25am to give you enough time to find a seat and make yourself comfortable. Services last approximately 1 hour.

After the service you are welcome to join us for tea or coffee, biscuits and a chat. If you have any questions then just look out for any of our welcome team wearing yellow badges.

Worship

Each service we participate in worship together. This involves prayer, singing and reading of scripture. Members of our church assist us in leading our worship each week. We have a praise band who lead us in song and we sing a mixture of hymns and contemporary Christian music.

We send out the weeks reading via email every Friday so please feel free to sign up to our email list on our contact page if you would like to receive these.

Reflection

During each service we provide time for a short reflection on the scripture reading for the week.

Because we currently do not have a permanent minister it means that we have the privilege of welcoming different ministers who are friends of the Church and members of the Church to share the reflection each week. This means we experience a variety of expressions and styles of reflections throughout the year.
